Perry is Perry is a Chicago native who was birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. She made her first appearances on television as Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. However, her parents did not permit her to perform until she turned an adult because of the impact stress might be able to have on their daughter. Perry she was timid to perform in the school, began to perform in the theater at Northwestern University because she wanted to make new acquaintances. Perry began her career with New York after graduation, landing minor roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homesickness led to Perry come back to California and find work as a theater actress. Perry was a part of the cast with her mother as part of The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. The show featured the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a lead role in nine episodes of the ABC drama The Family. Perry was a regular character in the ABC political drama Scandal which starred her father. In the same year, the actress was selected to play the younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger version of her mother's. The character was assigned an audition to the actress, despite the fact that she is a relative to the character.
